The birth center will be a place of welcome, acceptance, and nurturing for clients and staff.
We will strive for excellence in care using a blend of current evidence, experience,
Flexibility, within safety, for the mom, baby, family, and midwives,
“The time has come”, the Walrus said,
“to speak of many things.”
There comes a time in every pregnancy when a woman knows her labors are complete. For some this occurs early and there is a miscarriage. For others it happens when they give in to the overwhelming urge to push, or when the decision is made for a cesarean. It may be when the baby is placed in their arms. But in all cases, a woman knows when things are complete.
Thus, it is with gratitude and sadness that I have made the decision to close the birth center practice. My labors are done.
The current plan is to close the office at the end of August and close the practice at the end of September. I will use this space for updates.
There are a number of midwifery and birth items I am willing to sell, and will post those as I sort through things.
If you have donated any items, such as books and videos, I will be happy to return those to you. The library books will be donated and shared between Monroe County, MI and Lucas County, OH libraries.
All the charts will be scanned and saved as pdfs. If you would like your hard copy and I will be happy to send it to you, if you will cover the postage. Otherwise I will send a pdf by email upon request.
Thank you to all who have allowed me to serve you these past 13 years.
